Sustainability
Vogue Ceramics is proud to be working alongside organisations who have the environment and sustainability at the forefront of their business decisions.
Partnering with Ceramic factories who are passionate about making a positive contribution to society, economy and the planet is exactly why these manufacturers have gained environmentally friendly certifications such as Cradle to Cradle, ISO14001 and EMAS. They are constantly looking at ways to improve the way they work and produce sustainable materials.
Our suppliers work tirelessly to reduce their environmental impact by utilising the best available technologies, implementing circular economy criteria in the use of energy resources, water, and waste, and implementing a clear, specific company policy in conjunction with certified product and process environmental management procedures.
We continue to build and maintain solid relationships with these manufacturers, ensuring we have a robust trace-ability system and offer true peace of mind for some of the world’s biggest retailers.
Here at Vogue Ceramics, we are also conscious of the products we use daily and are always looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment:
All of our forklifts have been changed from Gas to electric – the most environmentally friendly fuel option. A typical lead acid battery is 98% recyclable and has the lowest greenhouse gas output of any fuel source known.
Electric forklifts also ensure safer working conditions. For example, getting rid of propane tanks eliminates fumes, which creates a healthier atmosphere.
We use plastic recycling companies who bale, sort and recycle our plastic waste in the most carbon efficient way possible.
By recycling our plastic waste:
- It provides a sustainable source of raw materials to the industry.
- Greatly reduces the environmental (especially the CO2) impact of plastic-rich products.
- Minimises the amount of plastic being sent to the UK’s landfill sites.
- Avoids the consumption of the Earth’s oil stocks.
- Consumes less energy than producing new, virgin polymers.
If all plastic were recycled it would save 30 – 150 million tonnes of Co2 each year which is equivalent to closing between 8 and 40 coal-fired power plants globally.
We are progressively moving our fleet and company cars from Diesel to electric, with 3 electric cars in the Vogue fleet and more on the horizon to help to reduce carbon emissions, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote a cleaner, more sustainable transportation system.
We are constantly looking at how we can reduce our carbon footprint and have procedures in place to ensure all waste is recycled and that we purchase consumables, be it paper for the office or packaging to send out samples to our customers, that have been produced using recycled materials.
Together we can build a Greener Future!
